It’s All Good!
I’m obsessed! I don’t know which one I am more obsessed with – March Madness or General Hospital.
I spent the ENTIRE weekend either watching the NCAA tournament, GH on SoapNet (while cleaning so at least I got something done), or watching the tourney while simultaneously chatting with my girls about the soap! How pathetic is that?!!
Really, it’s not as bad as it sounds. I did get my house prepared for visitors later this week and I did get some shopping done. So, all is not lost.
It’s just funny. I mean, not too long ago I posted a blog note about addictions (see Addiction or Release? below). In that blog I mentioned that my only vice is GH and that still rings true but I don’t think I’ve enjoyed watching a soap opera this much since my high school days when GL was the center of my universe, when my grandmother and I used to watch it everyday after school. Now, it’s not my grandmother who’s with me but rather my new girl friends. We dish, we chat, we Message Board, and then we sign off for the afternoon and everything is back to “normal”. Oh, heck, I have such fun and it’s just fabulous to be able to share my passion for something with others who feel the same.
So, I guess I can answer my question. It’s not an addiction. It’s a release. It really is.
Now, the NCAA tourney….we’ll have to see about that. I have my bracket right here. It doesn’t look too pretty but my team is hanging in there. I will not say who it is for fear of jinxing it but GO —–!

Can’t agree about the NCAA, but the soaps? I’m right there with ya! It’s a release! No one else but a soap fan can understand that.
